Bio

After more than 20 years offering full spectrum primary care services, I decided to join the RIT Student Health Care Team as Medical Director. Student Health offers me the opportunity to continue my passion for team-based primary care with an additional focus on campus health. As a doctor, one of my primary roles is to educate about health, illness, health care systems and resources so that the real leader of the team, the patient, has the tools to maintain health. In one of my previous roles, I served as Medical Director for Highland Family Planning, a clinic
focusing on sexual health. In that role, I developed tremendous respect for young adults navigating relationships, life reproductive goals and their personal health. I also provided community education and advocacy and look forward to doing that through my role at RIT. At RIT, I am excited to be delivering services in
collaboration with mental health services, disability services, educational resources and LGBTQ division.
In addition to the role at Highland Family Planning, I have been the lead
physician in my primary care practice. We have undertaken a variety of improvement initiatives including certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home, Behavioral Health Integration into our office and Health Home
Care Management . I also feel strongly that we all need to be contributing members to our global community. I serve on the board of the Monroe YMCA, have volunteered as an on-call physician for Rochester Area Interfaith
Hospitality Network, served as founding faculty consultant for UR Well free medical clinical, traveled to Honduras multiple times as part of University of Rochester Shoulder to Shoulder medical brigade and served as
PTSO president and School Based Planning Team Member for multiple Rochester City Schools.
